Finding the best espresso machine can be tough when you don’t know exactly what to look for, but if you know a basic list of needs and demands you have for the machine (sounds weird, we know), then you’re already off to a great start. If you’re someone who isn’t looking for a professional machine and wants something reliable for their kitchen, check out the two espresso machines below.

Compact and minimalistic, the DeLonghi America espresso and cappuccino machine is perfect for those with a huge craving for cappuccino and espresso, but don’t have the counterspace for an equally as large machine. With the ability to product quite the punch for such a small machine, the compact aspect of this machine isn’t the only feature that this piece of equipment boasts. In fact, other features of the aforementioned machine include the following:

  • Improved wheel interface design
  • Pressure-based system that’s automatic for flavor extraction
  • A system with a new patented design based on a “smart capsule” system
  • Free boxes of capsules from Dolce Gusto

Breakdown of the Features

The above features aren’t the only ones this machine has; however, there are so many, we’re going to focus on the aforementioned as they are the most important. The improved wheel interface design allows you to select the size of beverage you desire, along with featuring an LED display that has 8 various levels. In having this, along with a flow-stop system, you can make sure you’re in full control of your coffee’s flavor intensity, along with the size. Beyond this, the 15-bar automatic pressure is a type of system that’s implemented within this machine in order to extract the most amount of flavor, along with a better consistency. With the patented smart-capsule design for the system, you can ensure that your espresso is kept fresh, while the pressure for the machine is kept optimal for consistent usage. It’s worth mentioning that the water tank holds 45 ounces, and allows you to get quite a few cups of espresso or cappuccino out of one brew. It’s important to note that there are Dolce Gusto capsules that should be used with this machine, and we don’t suggest using any unapproved brands or parts on this machine, for you could voice the warranty.

First Impression

One of my favorite things about this machine was that it was so compact, and the LED light system was very attractive. There are adjustable features within the interface of this machine that allowed me to explore options and customization for beverages. Beyond this, you can use a plethora of products within your coffee, and even create ice-coffee with ease. As someone who’s only recently got into being an espresso buff, the ease of use and operation of this machine was far superior to a couple I’ve tried recently. The pressure regulator performs well, producing delicious and custom coffee with ease. There were no awkward smells and it barely took up any room on my counterspace. As a young professional that’s sorta “fresh” out of college (within the past two years), I don’t exactly have a huge kitchen and a plethora of money to work with. The aforementioned was a fantastic, viable option in terms of budget and in terms of space. My initially appeal towards this machine was later proven to be a fantastic purchase.

The Advantages of the Product

You don’t have to worry about this machine not taking any special pods, as you can use the normal pods you typically would. If you know how to find these, this shouldn’t be an issue for you. Also, it’s worth mentioning that you can make multiple sizes of espresso and cappuccino within the program process of this machine. Not only does this machine provide reliability, but you also have versatility and consistency. Another advantage of this product is that you can begin creating and drinking within 30-seconds of the initial setup. We all can’t be baristas that are flashy and super skilled, so dive into the creation of this machine which will allow you to come extremely close. You’ll never have to worry about super long lines in the morning, and you’ll never be late! One problem is that your colleagues at work might ask you to bring in a ton! Make sure to grab the money and pretend you’re going to a real café! That way, you can buy more pods – the machine will really pay for itself then!

Beyond the above mentioned, the use of the machine is pretty simple and something that practically anyone can use.

The Disadvantages of the Product

Unfortunately, with any machine, there are disadvantages. However, it’s important to note that there isn’t a wall of disadvantages that cancel out the pros of the product. If you’re someone wanting a perfect Starbucks product, you won’t get it using this machine. However, you will be saving a TON of money while getting a pretty delicious product. Taking up little space and costing little money, the machine practically pays for itself rather quickly. No more spending a ton of money on fancy barista work when you can get it at home.

What’s in the Box?

Within the contents of this package, you’ll find the DeLonghi machine as promised, along with two free boxes of the capsules from Dolce Gusto themselves. The aforementioned is a type of cappuccino that is medium roast. However, this is to get you started with using their capsules, as this machine was designed with the intent of using the Dolce Gusto capsules exclusively within this machine.

The Final Verdict

Overall, I think I would highly recommend the DeLongi espresso and cappuccino machine. For those who are new to the world of at-home creating, and want to save a bit of money rather than buying Starbucks every day, this is a great option for you. It’s a viable machine that will pay for itself rather quickly while producing a great tasting product with great consistency.
