If you are imagining a world where you can wake up every day and make yourself a rich cup of cappuccino in the morning then I am here to tell you that your dreams can be a reality.
Whether you are looking to simply make great coffee from your home or office or become more knowledgeable about the different types of caffeinated brews the best way to do it is with first and experience.
Bringing an espresso machine into your own home will virtually make you and overnight expert on the topic because from the first day you will notice how much of a difference the water temperature can make, how high the pressure needs to be in order to achieve the perfect texture, and the tamping and coarseness of the grounds.
Granted, this machine is automated and the only thing you will have to do manually is froth the milk or cream.
However, the techniques and mechanics necessary to brew the perfect cup will start to make a whole lot of sense when you start making your own. You may even grow to appreciate the complicated process the baristas learn in order to make your shot of espresso manually, though you probably won’t be visiting much coffee shops anymore.

My First Impression
When I first received the Gaggia Anima Coffee and Espresso Maker I was very happy with how easy it was to use. I also very much appreciate the aesthetic of kitchen appliances and the modern design fits nicely with the rest of the decor. To be honest I am a bit of a homebody, though I do like to entertain a lot and this was just perfect for the post-dinner conversations when the wine is gone and everyone could use a little pick me up when the evening is coming to a close.
It is possibly my favorite addition to my kitchen in recent years and I must say it has certainly turned every dinner I have at home now (whether alone or entertaining) into a more sophisticated atmosphere. However, I have a great appreciation for the small touches when it comes to social events and I realize not everyone wants to go overboard in entertaining guests. Though, if you do this is a nice way to cap the night off.
Another thing I was very happy about when I ordered this device was the size of the water tank. Not that I think refilling a tank would be all that much trouble, but again it is nice when you are entertaining to streamline the process and diminish the steps needed to produce multiple beverages in a short period of time.
I’ve wondered before if there are any coffee shops that use these kind of automated espresso machines, as I think it could increase productivity if they did.
The Advantages of the Product
The advantages of buying this product over similar brands is namely how easy it is to use. Though I read through the instruction manual it came with first I doubt very much I would have had to in retrospect (though I admit it did come in handy when figuring out how to use the manual frother, as I have never done that before).
The bright LED display is very easy to read and the buttons are pretty intuitive. You can also program it to automatically make your favorite drinks with constant amounts of water to the size you prefer.
The other thing I believe is a great advantage (once again, especially for entertaining) is the dreg bin designed to hold spent grounds for later disposal. Once again, I find myself thinking if this machine was designed for industrial use. Either way, it works splendidly for making numerous beverages quickly without having to worry about the tedium of stopping and going.
The last item I will mention, as a benefit of choosing this device over similar ones on the market is its low energy usage. After I believe an hour of not being used it will automatically enter into standby mode in order to reduce the power consumption. It’s also a nice feature if, like me, you tend to get distracted and forget to turn things off from time to time.
The Disadvantages of the Product
The only disadvantage to this device is that it can’t be programmed to turn on automatically. I know this is a common feature in coffee machines and some people my even think of it as a standard for any device that produces caffeinated beverages.
Though, I would challenge you to consider whether this is really necessary with a device like this. It takes no longer than a minute to create a shot of espresso, two minutes if you want to froth the milk for a latte. Programming this machine to automatically start at a certain time isn’t really necessary considering how little time it takes to create each drink.
The only thing that really adds time is the frothing of the milk, which is done manually anyway. By having to make each drink to order you are ensuring quality rather than sacrificing convenience.
Additionally, this product is not self-cleaning. This is not uncommon for these types of devices so you will have to keep this machine maintained just like any other kitchen device you regularly use.
What’s in the Box?
It comes with everything you need to plug it in and start brewing away. It also comes with a handy-dandy two-year warranty to set your mind at ease. While it’s not a lot, you’re still provided with everything you need to get started.
The Final Verdict
Overall, I think this is a great product that can be used by pro’s but is especially advantageous for beginners who are simply looking to learn a little more about espresso and brew some tasty beverages along the way. It is extremely easy to use and the espresso produced is restaurant quality as long as you are using quality beans.
