Honestly, I can see why some people might be a bit apprehensive about purchasing this espresso machine. But, the easiest way to decide if it’s worth it is to decide what you want out of your espresso machine. If what you want is the best espresso you can get from the comfort of your own home, the Jura ENA Micro should be calling your name.

I have gone through my fair share of espresso makers in my day, and it is hard to find one that doesn’t need constant cleaning to avoid leaky messes and weak drinks. It was high time I decided to get away from the cheaper end espresso machines and started looking at the heavy hitters in the market, and the Jura was constantly coming out on top with good reviews.

Breakdown of the Features

One of the most prominent features besides the delicious beverages that this machine delivers is that it’s not only energy-efficient but has a great compact design. If you’re in a galley kitchen or compact apartment (maybe even a hostel-style of home), you understand the need for amplifying the small space you have.Jura Ena Micro 1 Review

Using this within your normal morning routine will allow a seamless way to get your morning started, even in a tiny home of sorts. Beyond this, the concentration is adjustable, it’s easy to clean, easy to operate, and even features a built-in bean grinder.

My First Impression

Honestly, my first thought when I bought this was “this better work.” It is by far the most expensive espresso machine I have ever purchased, but I was so sick of having to replace the cheaper models due to the inconsistent pours and frequency of repairs that I told myself it was time something changed.Jura Ena Micro 1 Review

So, when I ordered the Jura ENA Micro 90, I was just praying I wouldn’t regret it. And, oh my gosh, I do not regret it for a moment. The instant it arrived, I cleaned all the parts, plugged it in and ground some fresh beans, and started brewing, and starting with the rich aroma that gently arose from the large mug, I was nearly certain I had made the right choice.

Then I lifted that steaming cup to my face and breathed deeply. Suddenly, I felt like I was in a cafe, in a commercial, and was loving every second. I gave the beverage a few minutes to cool, and once I sipped it, I was sold. I have never tasted a better cup of espresso in my life.

The Advantages of the Product

One of the reasons I decided on this espresso machine because of its compact design. I have a pretty small kitchen, so optimizing space is a must. I’m pretty this could fit in any kitchen, and it would be hard to find one any smaller that does as good a job. Another great benefit of choosing this machine over the competition is the adjustable concentration for the brew, which allows you to make both espresso and coffee, as well as ristretto for your real connoisseurs out there.Jura Ena Micro 1 Review

Ristretto is a small shot of espresso that uses a half extraction of water with the same amount of grounds. The first part of any pour is always going to be the most concentrated, and without adding any water after the end result is an extremely rich brew. It is a high concentration brew, which is perfect for getting going in the morning. You can also program the amount you want as well, so you can constantly fill any size cup you like.

Another great thing about this espresso machine is how easy it is to clean. When you first turn the machine on every day, it will quickly run through a self-cleaning cycle and pump a little hot water through the spout. This is to help ensure there is no blockage and reduce the build-up around the inside compartments. This happens again when you turn the machine off as well, reducing the amount of maintenance the machine will need over time and prolong the life of your device.Jura Ena Micro 1 Review

The last thing to mention about this is the lack of any standby power when it is off. This means it uses no power when it is off, which makes it a high energy efficient machine.

The Disadvantages of the Product

The only disadvantage with this device is that it doesn’t have an apparatus to froth milk or cream, it is specifically designed to make coffee, espresso, and ristretto. So, if you are looking for something that will allow you to froth milk, you may want to look at another option or buy a steaming device separately. Again, this machine does one thing, but it does it right, making it the best purchase for Italian cafe grade espressos.

What’s in the Box?

Unfortunately, there isn’t anything in the box other than the capability of making great coffee. There is an option for a water filter, or rather a water softener, you can add to the water tank if you don’t feel like using bottled water to fill it, and you get hard water from the tap (which I do). If it comes with a little strip so you can test the water to determine whether or not the accessory might be worth getting, other than that, just get ready to enjoy the best espressos money can buy.

The Final Verdict

Overall, I think this is a professional-grade device and is perfect for making the best espresso you can get your hands on. It is small enough to fit in any kitchen, and the two self-cleaning automation will give you years of perfect use. And yes, I really mean years. If you are worried at all about the price, I have had mine for about five years now and have not had any issues with it. At the end of the day, I couldn’t recommend this machine enough, and those who haven’t tried real espresso made like the professionals you are missing out on one of life’s simplest pleasures.

  1. I tried a cup of coffee from her Jura Eno Micro 1 during a visit over the holidays last year and it was love at first sip! I had to wait a while to save up for this machine, but after reading all the overwhelmingly positive reviews like this, I know I won’t regret my decision. The cost-savings over the lifetime of the machine will still exceed the money I spend going to local coffee shops for mediocre coffee. Also, I no longer have to contribute to putting K-cups in landfills. The grounds are compostable! Not only is this machine energy efficient, it’s also environmentally-friendly but eliminating K-cups! This is a great review and I hope to enjoy my Jura Eno Micro 1 for many, many years to come. Note: I purchased mine refurbished in order to save some money.
